Technology is all around us so why the classrooms in the schools should be left behind. But why should we use the technology in classrooms? The reasons can be divers but there are certain reasons as to why we should. They are:
Every student has a different level of IQ than the other. Some may be fast learners and some may grasp the things slowly. Some may just memorize the whole lecture instead of understanding while some go into too much of details. Thus there is a wide gap between the students sitting in the same room and studying the same course. The use of technology can bridge the gap between them.
The boring lectures can be made interesting by the use of the technology in the classes. The absenteeism and the class bunks can be reduced.
Implementing the technology helps the students to explore the actual use of the studies they are taking in the rooms. They can visualize how the technology is actually implemented in the real world and how they can enhance their knowledge further, what they need to learn more and the likes.
The students can find more data regarding the topics that they are studying that may be impossible to gather form other sources, save the files and make their own notes in the classroom by browsing the net and searching the websites. This data collected and saved as notes saves time and the money of the students.
The assignments given to the students can be taken up as class presentations. This not only develops the presentation skills of the students but also makes the whole study interesting and simultaneously grooms the personality of the students.
Interact with number of students simultaneously. The technology also provides one to one interaction among the professors and the students such that the professor can pay individual attention to the students in the class rooms. The students can also interact with the other students in other colleges and share their views on different topics.
The technology can be used to provide a simulation environment where the students can be given the problems and an environment that is similar to the real conditions. Thus the students get an opportunity to actually act in the situation. This makes the whole thing interesting and the students participate, come up with new ideas and actually gain knowledge of how to implement the theory into practice.
Thus the use of technology not only improves the interaction among the students, but also develops the team spirit among them, helps in developing the personality and thus the very objective of the education of developing the individual.
